Historic Elementary School Using Our Discovering Heroes® Series and Curriculum

The Discovering Heroes® series and 9/11 Curriculum from the Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Institute™ on display at Emma E. Booker Elementary School.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Discovering Heroes® series of books, 9/11 curriculum, and a steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center, arrived at Sarasota, Florida’s Emma E. Booker Elementary School. It’s the same school where President George W. Bush learned America was under attack on that fateful day.

Educators there are using the non-fiction books and curriculum, two aspects of the Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Institute™, to educate students about Sept. 11. “These important educational resources are helping to ensure that future generations Never Forget the 2,977 lives lost that day, and the many more who have died since from 9/11-related illnesses,” said Kristie Kiernan Bouryal, author of the book trilogy and CEO of Context Productions. “Every child in America should be taught about the events of Sept. 11, the bravery exhibited that day, and the spirit and resilience of our nation, which united us all.”

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is taking the 16,000-pound steel beam more than 10,500 miles, to over 35 stops across 21+ states, offering the public a rare opportunity to experience this sacred artifact. This tour is the Foundation’s signature initiative to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

“Context Productions is proud to help ensure all generations remember and Never Forget 9/11,” said Bouryal.
